I started volunteering for a cancer support place recently. It's really... slow? I stuffed envelopes and answered phone calls and listened to comedy on Pandora because there were very few phone calls or walk-ins that need help, so... yeah. So obviously I had a really good time, because I basically spent a whole day listening to jokes and good times. And I finished the envelopes early and there wasn't any other work, so I got to do some knitting. This is what I'm working on:
It's a shawl, which is basically a blanket for only your shoulders, and I make/use them often, because when I have a sweater or a jacket on, I always end up rolling up the sleeves, because I don't like things near my hands/wrists when I'm working, so it kind of makes the added layer pointless. So instead, I basically make a shoulder blanket and it ends before my elbows, and problem solved. This is what it looks like:
When I'm done, I wash it, and stretch it so that the lace opens up, and let it dry like that, and it'll be awesome. I'll post after pictures when I'm done, so there's that. It's pretty big. This is a 12 inch ruler just chillin' in the middle of the shawl. That long line is the middle of the shawl, and you can see how it's more than a foot on each side:
I've also been trying to get a job (still, omg) and uh... my computer session is just about over, so I'll end here....
